The theoretical weight of any mild steel strip or flat is calculated using the standard steel density constant of 7.85 g/cm³ (7,850 kg/m³).
Total Batch Weight (kg) = Running Wt (kg/m) × Length (m) × Quantity
Practical Calculation Example: To calculate the weight of an MS strip bundle with thickness = 3.0 mm, width = 50 mm, strip length = 6.0 meters, and quantity = 100 strips:
Running Weight = 3.0 × 50 × 0.00785 = 1.1775 kg/m
Weight per 6m Strip = 1.1775 × 6 = 7.065 kg
Total Weight = 7.065 × 100 = 706.5 kg (0.71 Metric Tons)
